1. Trevor’s joke in the video was about how people are always on their phones. Like, people go to cool places and don’t even enjoy it, they just whip out their phones and take pictures for social media. Theyre never in the moment. He also says people hang out but are stuck on their phones instead of talking. I agree. I’ve done it too. Phones are cool, but sometimes we forget to enjoy real life.
2. Chapters 6–7 Quotes:
Quote 1:
“The relationship between a cop and criminal in the movies, the relentless detective and the devious mastermind she’s determined to catch” (Noah 80).
Trevor says this to explain how him and his mom were always going back and forth. She was always trying to catch him doing something wrong, and he was always trying to get away with stuff. Like when he snuck out with friends, and somehow she always found out. She paid attention to everything. Even though she was strict, you can tell she really cared about him.
Quote 2:
“You do not own the thing you love” (Noah 100).
This was about his dog, Fufi. Trevor thought she was just his dog, but then he found out she was going to another house too. It hurt him, but he realized you can love something and not own it. That reminded me of my dog, Lola. I take care of her, but she’s still her own little person (well, dog). You can’t control who or what you love. you just give love and hope it comes back.
3. Personal Connection: Pets and Lessons
When Trevor found out Fufi had another life, he realized that love isn’t about owning someone, it’s about letting them be who they are. That really stuck with me. I’ve learned something similar from my own animals. Just because you love a pet doesn’t mean you can control them. I went through this with my horse, Whiskey. There was a time when he started giving me a hard time and even became dangerous. It was tough, but I had to accept that he has his own mind, feelings, and limits. Animals aren’t just ours, they’re their own beings with their own lives.
