Is owning a horse worth the money?

Is owning a horse even worth the money?

even though I love my horse more than anything, I can’t help but wonder sometimes—is he really worth all the money? I work nonstop just to afford him, and it feels like all he gives me in return is trouble. He bucks me off, flips over when I saddle him, headbutts me, and does a bunch of other frustrating things. It makes me so mad, and sometimes I even start to dislike him. But at the end of the day, isn’t this what I always wanted?

When I first got him, I thought we’d love each other, go barrel racing, and have fun together. But now, to be honest, I’m just scared of him. I even put him up for sale at one point. Then, one of his past owners reached out and told me about her experiences with him. She said he was a huge pain for her too and was surprised he was still acting this way after all these years—seven, to be exact. But she also told me about a therapy that might help him. So, that’s the next step. Maybe things can still change.
